A Mid-Century Home, Reimagined for Today

This SW Portland home is a classic mid-century ranch with great bones and even better views. Our goal was to honor everything that makes the era special, the clean lines, the open flow, the connection to the outdoors, while bringing every surface and system up to a modern standard.

At the heart of the home, we opened the kitchen to a walnut waterfall island, paired warm wood with crisp white cabinetry, and framed the hillside with expansive windows. The vaulted living room keeps its original tongue-and-groove wood ceiling, now anchored by a refreshed, white-washed brick fireplace. A wood-slat partition defines the entry without closing off the light.

Throughout the rest of the home, we built spa-style bathrooms, including a freestanding soaking tub and a glass walk-in shower, a custom walk-in closet, and a calm, light-filled home office. The result is a home that feels unmistakably mid-century, and thoroughly modern to live in.
